Hi there! I’m Emily, the owner of Prodigy Paws! I have been training dogs since 2015 and working with all different breeds and ages of dogs. I started off teaching basic obedience and have worked with service dogs for those with neurological disabilities such as autism. My passion and calling is helping families create stronger bonds with their dogs and helping dogs see that the world is not as scary as they might think through strong obedience and clear communication.
My interest in dog training began when I got my dog Midnight who has always been prone to be afraid of everything. Since beginning this crazy adventure I have become Canine Good Citizen Evaluator with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and am also a proud Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP). I am constantly striving to improve my knowledge when it comes to training dogs. If I don’t know the answer to a problem, you can bet that I’ll find it for you.
I am also a proud military wife, mother, and owner of two poodle mixes, Chewbacca and Midnight.
No two dogs are alike. Just like humans, each dog learns in their own particular way, because of this Prodigy Paws utilizes a variety of different methods of dog training. We always begin training with positive reinforcement methods and adapt different techniques based on the dogs specific needs. Always learning new techniques and staying up to date on the latest methods is important to us as we strive to bring your and your furry companions balance and clear communication within your home.
Tools we use at Prodigy Paws include treats, toys, flat collars, leashes, head collars, harnesses, slip leads, prong collars, and e collars. Have questions about training tools? Check out the video below or feel free to contact us at the bottom of the page!
